NFPs can now track anonymous donors, and any changes in their gift, via a unique donor ID.
A February update to the GMP is giving NFPs the ability to track anonymous donors, import them into their own CMS systems, and follow any changes made to their gift.
Created in response to NFP feedback, a unique identifier number is now generated for every anonymous donor allowing these supporters, and their gifts, to be included in wider bequest analysis and reporting.
Stewarding donors
The majority (52%) of people who pledge a gift in their will via Gathered Here opt to share their information with their chosen charity or NFP. However, this doesn’t mean the remaining 48% overlooked or excluded from internal reporting.
The sensitive nature of bequests means some supporters will always want to remain anonymous - this is true for both traditional wills and online wills.
By providing a way of tracking their gifts, fundraisers can stay abreast of this pipeline while also keeping it distinct from opt-in donors who can be entered into formal stewardship funnels.
